Network and presence observations
The adapter reports interface statistics and selected Home Assistant presence evidence.
Collected observations
Interface records include link state, reported speed, cumulative byte counters and observation time. This adapter does not collect packet contents, client traffic, IP addresses or MAC addresses.
Selected Home Assistant device trackers and occupancy/presence sensors expose state and freshness. Optional enrollment provides owner-declared labels and associations. A device association is not proof that a person is present.
No invented location
Stale, missing, invalid or future producer timestamps yield unknown presence. last_updated is not treated as a fabricated heartbeat. Wi-Fi access alone does not provide accurate people locations.
Router-model identification and an access-point-specific adapter remain separate work. The recorded Home Assistant check could not resolve its hostname, so real presence connectivity remains unverified.
